Enlightenment With Sacred Geometry

The path to unlocking a human’s highest potential is long and often painful. However, there are various spiritual tools one can use to make the journey a little easier, allowing expansion of the subconscious to reach a level never imagined. These tools can also increase spiritual wisdom. One of these mystical apparatuses is sacred geometry. Although not as widely known as other tools, it is one of the most energetic because it correlates with the Universe and its existence at the core level.

What is sacred geometry?

The Oxford dictionary defines geometry as the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs.¹ In simple terms, it is a sub-topic of mathematics that focuses on the connections between shapes and how they sit in spaces. Additionally, geometry can be traced back to 2000 BCE-1001 BCE in Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures.² However, it only gained popularity when famous philosophers, Pythagoras, and Plato began studying it in-depth. Sacred geometry is essentially the same. It involves the study of forms or shapes but also the spiritual significance behind them. It also heavily revolves around everything in the Universe being connected.³

There are many areas where sacred geometry makes its appearance in the Universe. Places like the spiral on the trunk of a tree, the iris in any species, and even in the palms of the human hand. The patterns occur in many different shapes and sizes.

What is it used for?

The observation of sacred geometry is not only incredibly calming and profound but also an intricate way of unlocking the awareness of the subconscious mind. When symbols from sacred geometry are used in coordination with meditation or other tools for spiritual practice, it can amplify the effects exponentially.³ Many influential individuals in spiritual work claim that sacred geometry is necessary to educate the soul.⁴ When a person is on a journey to enlightenment, per se, learning, comprehending, and practicing sacred geometry is essential to healing their inner being.

The shapes in sacred geometry are also commonly known as Yantras⁵, a Sanskrit word with yam meaning to restrain, hold in, and control, and tra means to protect.⁶ A yantra is believed to be an expression of light. Each one is said to correlate to a specific element or subject in the Universe. A yantra can be used in place of an image or statue of a deity.⁵

What effect does it have on the human subconscious and consciousness?

In any spiritual practice, there is the potential for reaching a higher consciousness and, in effect, raising the human vibration.⁵ The most important thing to remember is that Yantras can activate, transform, heal, and awaken the human subconscious.⁴ Having an increased awareness of things surrounding oneself by finding patterns of sacred geometry can cause an influx of being conscious of one’s human understanding.

How to use sacred geometry?

This practice can be used in many different forms of life. The most straightforward is meditation. Something as minuscule as envisioning a particular symbol can activate specific mental processes and cultivate significant life shifts.⁴ While meditation is relaxing all on its own, adding rituals, in this case, yantras will create an entirely different experience.

The most popular yantra in sacred geometry is Metatron’s Cube. It contains every shape in the Universe, and each figure occurs numerous times throughout the essence of creation.⁷ Using this yantra in spiritual practice, specifically for life-giving purposes or similar (think reproduction, new beginnings, clean slate), will provide exponential results as opposed to practicing without it. Being one of the most powerful yantras, it is not one to neglect.

As discussed in the beginning, there are numerous tools when practicing spiritual work. These tools can drastically influence the journey onward if one allows it. There are few things more potent in spirituality than practicing with the imagery of creation itself.
